With their debut EP 01 DISC, TABLE have served up one of the most exciting genre-fusions in electronic music this year. Rooted in beat-driven grooves and elevated by live jazz, soul, Latin and Afro influences, the Stockholm duo — made up of 24-year-old friends Valter and Andreas — are crafting music that feels both deeply musical and dancefloor-ready. From the sax-led shimmer of “Waho” to the viral success of “Hotspot” (now at 1.3M+ streams), their sound is alive with rhythm, collaboration, and purpose.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of Kaytranada, St Germain, and Disclosure, TABLE bring their own soulful spin to house — playing keys, guitar, drums, and looping in conservatory-trained collaborators from Sweden’s vibrant music scene. With co-signs from SG Lewis and Joe Jonas, playlist support across Jazz House, Soultronic, and a Cool Cuts Chart placement under their belt, it’s clear TABLE are fast becoming one of Europe’s most forward-thinking new acts.
We caught up with the duo to talk about collaboration, storytelling through groove, and why connection — both musical and human — is always at the heart of their process.
Q: Your debut EP 01 DISC fuses jazz, soul, Latin and Afro influences with house music — was that genre-blending instinctive, or something you had to consciously craft?
There’s an authenticity and musical richness in those genres that we both really love. Fusing that organic sound with beat-driven house music came quite naturally to us, especially after spending a lot of time listening to artists like Kaytranada, Berlioz, and Disclosure, to name a few. For us, these genres complement each other beautifully. At the heart of what we do is a desire to showcase talented musicians and elevate their artistry through our platform. It’s about creating a sound that feels both soulful and danceable, alive and deeply musical.
Q: “Hotspot” and “Waho” are both rhythmically rich and emotionally textured — how do you balance groove with storytelling in largely instrumental tracks?
That’s a great question. Most of our tracks begin with a beat, something groove-oriented, and from there we build out the chords and melodies to create a sense of structure and thematic progression. We’re also purposely trying to create space in the music, allowing room for instrumentalists to express themselves and bring their own voice to the track.
A great example is “Hotspot,” where the saxophonist Levi Hayes was given complete freedom to play what he felt. His saxophone lines unfold like a narrative, blending so seamlessly with the beat that it tells its own story. That kind of interplay between rhythm and emotion is really at the core of what we aim to create.
Q: The name TABLE is all about shared experiences and musical connection — how does that philosophy play out in your studio sessions and live sets?
Exactly, the idea behind TABLE was born out of close friendships and collaborative moments. It’s about community, sharing space, talents, and creativity. In the studio, collaboration is what drives us. We love bringing musicians into the process and crafting music that highlights their unique abilities.
The same spirit carries into our live shows. We aim to make our gigs feel fresh and dynamic, blending live instruments with electronic beats. Whether it’s a full live band or a DJ set with live elements, our goal is to keep it raw, genuine, and immersive. We also like being versatile — our music stands strong whether in a club setting, a concert venue, or something in between.
Q: You’ve had co-signs from SG Lewis, Joe Jonas, and others — what’s it like watching your edits and originals circulate among major artists so early in your career?
It’s honestly been such a blessing. These are artists we truly look up to, so hearing that they enjoy and support what we do means a lot. It gives us a big boost of motivation and encourages us to keep pushing forward and stay true to our sound.
Q: Coming out of Sweden’s rich music scene, how has your background and education — especially your ties to the Stockholm Royal Conservatory — shaped your sound?
It all has its roots in friendships formed back in high school in Umeå, in Northern Sweden, where we both studied music. That’s where our bond began and where we got to explore different genres and develop musically in a very playful and open environment.
Later on, Andreas attended Musikmakarna, a songwriting and production school, which really helped us hone the technical and production quality of our work. The musicians featured on 01 DISC are all so incredibly skilled and currently studying, or have studied, at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Each of them brings their own style and depth, particularly within jazz.
Improvisation is key in how we create — there’s a sense of fearlessness and playfulness that we value deeply. “Bossa Love” actually came out of a spontaneous jam session between pianist Milos Lindegren, saxophonist Eskil Larsson and Jakob Einarsson on bass. That kind of organic collaboration is what fuels the TABLE sound.
