Get ready for a night of boundary-pushing sounds and genre-defying energy as Faroe Music Export and Bright Dead Things present a Faroese Takeover at Colours Hoxton on 19 May—featuring three of the most exciting and unpredictable acts emerging from the Faroe Islands right now: Aggrasoppar, jazzygold, and Ragnar Finsson.
Headlining the night is the chaotic, cult-favourite Aggrasoppar—the self-proclaimed “flower-punk/axekiller-pop” collective known for fusing soft country with harsh noise and everything in between. Their live shows are wild, theatrical, and completely unhinged—in the best way possible. After blowing away crowds at festivals like Reeperbahn, Eurosonic, and The Great Escape, they return to the UK fresh from their documentary debut Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned, which chronicled their 2024 UK tour. With a string of acclaimed releases and multiple Faroese Music Award nods, they’re not just a band—they’re a movement.

Bringing a different kind of emotional punch is rising RnB/soul-pop sensation jazzygold, whose music soundtracks the chaotic, beautiful mess of your 20s—breakups, hangovers, existential dread, and the occasional hair-dye impulse. With showcases at Eurosonic, Molde Jazz, and Iceland Airwaves, her live set promises a powerful, relatable performance full of honesty and melodic flair. Expect lush vocals, stylish visuals, and songs that hit just a little too close to home.

Rounding out the bill is genre-hopping multi-instrumentalist Ragnar Finsson, whose rich sound draws on indie, folk, Americana, and experimental electronica. Think the intricate textures of Bon Iver and José González meets the storytelling of The Band. With recent shows across Norway, Belgium and Estonia—and a 2024 Album of the Year win at the Faroese Music Awards as producer and artist—Ragnar is carving a singular path in Europe’s underground scene.
This special one-night-only showcase is a rare chance to experience the cutting edge of Faroese music in the heart of London. Whether you're there for the noise, the soul, or the space in between, this is not a show to miss.
