The British alternative four-piece embrace a bold new sound on their forthcoming Marshall Records debut, shaped by frontman Will Irvine’s life-threatening illness and recovery.

British alternative band Daytime TV have announced their new album Rodeo, arriving 19th February 2027 via Marshall Records, alongside the release of their new single ‘Meditate’.

Marking a bold new chapter for the four-piece, Rodeo sees the band push beyond the rougher edges of recent singles ‘Pause’, ‘Sun’ and ‘Creatures’, embracing a more expansive, pop-driven sound that pairs the synth-led sheen of The Human League with the widescreen energy of The Killers.

Produced by Pete Hutchings (Royal Blood, Foals, Gang of Youths) at The Marshall Studio in Milton Keynes, the album captures a band stepping into a new creative era with renewed perspective and nothing left to prove.

That shift was shaped by a deeply personal experience for frontman Will Irvine, who spent much of 2024 recovering from a severe, life-threatening autoimmune illness. Emerging from a period that fundamentally changed his outlook, Irvine found himself reassessing not only life, but the music he wanted to make.

“When you come close to losing everything, all your inhibitions disappear,” he explains. “You stop caring about trying to fit into a specific genre or pleasing anyone else. Rodeo is about stepping boldly into who we really are as a band and as people. It’s an album built on energy, survival, and pure conviction.”

New single ‘Meditate’ offers a first glimpse into that mindset. Trading some of the band’s recent grit for a brighter, more melodic approach, the track explores missed opportunities, lost relationships and the lingering pull of an alternative life that might have been. Written during a heatwave, it moves between nostalgic reflection and the reality of learning to live in the present.

For Irvine, the song also carries a more personal connection to his recovery, drawing on the mindfulness practices he used to navigate periods of physical isolation.

“Written during a heatwave, ‘Meditate’ is a nostalgic look back at what could have been. A chance missed, the ‘what if’ of THAT relationship. Maybe we could’ve done better. Everything was there for us but we let it pass us by and now our lives have gone in different directions,” he says.

“Dreaming about how life would’ve been different if things had worked out, then snapping back to the present day reality to ‘meditate & medicate’ which is what I was prescribed to reset my nervous system at the time we wrote the song.”

Formed in 2020, Daytime TV have steadily built a reputation as one of the UK’s emerging alternative acts, earning a loyal following through tours with You Me At Six and Twin Atlantic, alongside appearances at BST Hyde Park and Mad Cool Festival. Praised by BBC Radio 1 Introducing for their “infectious soaring energy”, and by Rock Sound for their “big, polished and cinematic” sound, the band have continued to develop their ambitions both on record and on stage.

Their signing to Marshall Records in 2026 marks another step forward, with Rodeo set to introduce a more expansive version of the band. Comprised of Irvine on vocals, John Caddick on guitar, Naomi Boschetti on bass and Gareth Thompson on drums, Daytime TV are ready to turn a period of personal adversity into a record defined by possibility.

Fans can hear the new material live this month as the band embark on an intimate UK tour in partnership with Music Venue Trust, visiting independent venues across the country. The run takes in Hull, Coventry, Newport, Milton Keynes, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Sheffield and Edinburgh, bringing the band’s next chapter directly to the grassroots venues that underpin the UK’s live music scene.

With Rodeo, Daytime TV are embracing a sound and identity entirely on their own terms. ‘Meditate’ sets the tone: melodic, reflective and charged with the feeling of a band ready to move forward.
