carina shares 'after the stars' EP Ahead Of launch party tomorrow!

London's music scene is about to ignite as singer-songwriter carina prepares to unleash her highly anticipated sophomore EP, 'after the stars', on August 18th. The independent label Don’t Sleep proudly presents this musical gem, marking a significant milestone in carina's journey. And that's not all – to commemorate the release, carina is set to captivate audiences with a live performance of the EP at Brixton Haus on the very same day.

In 'after the stars', an 8-track marvel, carina delves once again into the depths of her artistic psyche, presenting a collection that belies her years. Every note is an outpouring of her soul, transforming her work into a narrative tapestry of emotions. This EP encapsulates her coming-of-age tale, leaving no stone unturned as she lays bare her experiences. "It’s definitely an acknowledgement to uncomfortable feelings, emotions that everyone feels but nobody talks about," carina candidly reveals. "'If 'spaceout!' (my last project) was the house party, 'after the stars' is when everyone has gone home and you're feeling shit. In order to move forward from bad situations you have to acknowledge the pain, and that's what the project did for me."

Using music as a therapeutic conduit for her battles with mental health, carina's artistry takes on a transformative role, becoming a medium through which she vocalizes her life's ups and downs. Previous releases like 'no use', 'waste me away (demo)', 'skew wiff', and 'exit signs' have resonated profoundly, earning praise from esteemed outlets like Line of Best Fit, The Forty-Five, Tirade, Wonderland, and more. Live performances, including a standout appearance at The Great Escape Festival, solidified her position as an artist to watch, captivating both critics and new fans with her distinct sound and commanding stage presence.

carina's artistic evolution has been fueled by her battles with mental health and her journey of self-discovery. What began as a therapeutic response to the tragic loss of her best friend has grown into a songwriting exploration of heartache and adolescent challenges. From playing at Soho House's 'Future First' event to garnering attention from industry tastemakers such as Steve Lamacq's BBC Radio 6 show, Radio 1Xtra's Jamz Supernova, Jess Iszatt’s BBC Radio London Introducing, and publications like Clash, Wonderland, Notion, and New Wave, carina has emerged as a beacon of introspective maturity. Her introspective work, presented through the lens of a young artist with an "old soul," promises an immensely bright future for this rising star in the music firmament.
