Fresh off the release of their acclaimed second album Irreversible, Chicago alt-rock outfit Brigitte Calls Me Baby are keeping the momentum firmly in motion with the arrival of the official video for “I Can Take The Sun Out Of The Sky.”
Directed by Alec Basse, the video leans into a stylised, magazine-inspired concept—bringing the band’s world to life through a nostalgic, print-era lens. “It’s like a magazine where you can enter the world of the band,” frontman Wes Leavins explained in a new Rolling Stone interview, hinting at a visual that doubles as a meta-commentary on the band’s growing critical acclaim.
The track itself is instantly gripping—balancing an open-road sense of freedom with an undercurrent of melancholic grandeur. It’s a standout moment on Irreversible, a record that sees the band evolving into a more expansive, emotionally charged version of themselves.
Released via ATO Records, Irreversible has already sparked a wave of praise, with critics highlighting the band’s timeless yet modern sound and positioning them firmly on the brink of breakout status. The album, produced by Yves Rothman and Lawrence Rothman, captures a group transformed by relentless touring and newly emboldened in their songwriting.
That transformation is now unfolding live. The band kick off their North American headline tour tonight in Madison, Wisconsin, following a run of sold-out shows across Europe and UK dates supporting The Vaccines. With multiple dates already sold out—including stops in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and beyond—the tour signals a rapidly growing fanbase and a band stepping confidently into a bigger spotlight.
With Irreversible, Brigitte Calls Me Baby aren’t just refining their sound—they’re doubling down on it. And judging by the response so far, their ascent might just live up to the album’s title.
