Blessing Jolie Unleashes Anthemic Coming-of-Age Single ‘20teens’

Nigerian-American singer-songwriter and guitarist Blessing Jolie is breaking free with her fiery new single ‘20teens’, arriving September 12 via Thirty Tigers. Co-produced by Julian Cruz (Dominic Fike) and Gavin Hadley, the track is a raucous blend of indie-pop swagger and alt-rock grit, dripping with wit, nostalgia, and hard-earned self-awareness.

Laced with biting sarcasm and a tongue-in-cheek sense of empowerment, ‘20teens’ channels Jolie’s signature vocal delivery—fierce, playful, and effortlessly cool. It’s a gritty declaration of independence that nods to icons like Tracy Chapman, Alanis Morissette, SZA, and WILLOW, while carving out a space all its own.

“‘20teens’ is one of my favorite songs from my upcoming album,” Jolie shares. “I wrote it in a moment of clarity—when I started recognizing red flags and realized I don’t have to accept what I can’t tolerate. It’s another honest moment captured candidly.”

The single follows June’s confessional ballad ‘Frown Lines’, which earned praise from Okayplayer, Blurred Culture, and led to a freestyle session with On The Radar Radio. Jolie has already turned heads on the live circuit, opening for bluegrass veteran Willie Watson across UK venues earlier this year and earning early acclaim from Americana UK and God Is In The TV Zine.

With ‘20teens,’ Blessing Jolie cements her place as one of 2025’s most compelling new voices—sharp, self-assured, and unafraid to call things as she sees them.
