Bandcamp Launch New Live Streaming Platform For Online Events

Bandcamp is fast becoming one of the most artist friendly platforms out there, due to their insistence upon direct payment to the musicians that use their platforms. Over lockdown, Bandcamp Fridays, in which Bandcamp waive their fees for the artists, became extremely popular, to the extent that they have been extended until the end of the year.

But they haven't stopped there. With gigs and events off the cards for the foreseeable, the platform has decided to create 'Live'; an online streaming system in which artists can charge ticket prices for online gigs. Bandcamp take a 10% cut, but wont be doing so until march next year. The streaming window will allow for a live comments section from fans, and artist merch will be displayed throughout the broadcast.
