Irish composer, pianist, and producer Sarah Power steps into the spotlight with her debut EP In The Shadows, arriving December 5th. After more than a decade shaping acclaimed film and television soundtracks, Power now unveils her own richly atmospheric world — a blend of felted piano, layered strings, and cinematic electronic textures.
Power’s work has featured across major projects including This Town (BBC, Steven Knight), Swift Justice (The New Yorker, Emmy-nominated), The Boy That Never Was (RTÉ), The Diplomat (Alibi), and RTÉ’s upcoming These Sacred Vows. She has also composed for Irish and Canadian features and contributed widely to international production music.
Before focusing on composition, Power toured globally as a pianist and producer, performing everywhere from America’s Got Talent to Electric Picnic and Malahide Castle — experiences that now shape the emotional precision of her writing.
Recorded between Treehouse Studios (Wicklow) and her home studio in Dublin, In The Shadows captures “the space between stillness and movement,” drawing influence from Hania Rani, Ólafur Arnalds, and Dustin O’Halloran. The title track forms the EP’s emotional core, a slow-building motif that mirrors Power’s own shift from supporting others to claiming her creative space.
“It’s a quiet record but a real turning point,” Power says. “After years working behind the scenes, this EP was my way of stepping forward and defining myself as a composer.”
