Acopia Unveil Emotionally Charged New Album ‘Blush Response’

Melbourne’s Acopia return with their highly anticipated third album, Blush Response, out today via London/New York label Scenic Route. Known for their hushed, emotionally precise sound, the trio have distilled their quiet intensity into a reflective, guitar-forward record exploring fragility, resilience, and the weight of unspoken words.

Following acclaimed singles ‘Talk About It’, ‘Falter’, and ‘Real Life’—championed by FADER, RA, CLASH, The Line of Best Fit, and Stereogum—Blush Response finds Acopia at their most assured yet. Recorded over a year in two Naarm studios, including an abandoned rooftop office in South Yarra, the album carries a sense of impermanence that bleeds into its delicate, immersive sound.

“The building was set to be demolished in July, which gave the whole process a strange, bittersweet edge,” the band say. “That feeling of fragility hung in the air and made its way into the record.”

From the introspective melancholy of ‘See You In Everyone’ to the guitar-driven forward momentum of ‘Falter’, the album navigates longing, self-reflection, and quiet emotional reckoning. Bassist Lachlan takes on vocal duties for the first duet, ‘Let Down’, adding a new, guitar-forward dimension to their dream pop aesthetic.

Formed in 2018 by Kate Durman, Lachlan McGeehan, and Morgan Wright, Acopia have evolved from sparse, restrained beginnings to a project defined by instinct, vulnerability, and sonic depth. Their previous releases, Chances (2022) and Acopia (2023), earned praise for understated power and subtle emotional weight.

Currently on a UK/EU tour, the band have sold out shows in London, Paris, Berlin, and Amsterdam, with festival appearances at Wide Awake and Les Nuits Botanique. Live, Acopia’s understated but affecting performances have seen them support Tirzah and Bar Italia, and headline stages from Golden Plains to NTS Naarm.

With Blush Response, Acopia have crafted a hushed but powerful soundtrack for emotional reckoning—clearer, bolder, and more connected than ever.
