Indigo Eyes unveils new single ‘Forbidden’

The alias of London based electronic producer Joseph Robinson, Indigo Eyes sprung from the artist’s deep fascination with dance music and the UK house scene, citing influences among the likes of Disclosure, AlunaGeorge, and SG Lewis. Having first got a taste for electronic music after sneaking into a Martin Garrix set in Ibiza at 15, the now-19 year old comes bearing new gifts this month in the form of Forbidden, the debut track taken from his upcoming EP ‘Close to You.'

Following on from a wealth of bright and uplifting electronic compositions over the last few months, the track showcases his natural ability to create rich and atmospheric soundscapes, providing three minutes of chill-hop goodness underpinned by smooth, ethereal tones and a distinctive beat. Vocals come courtesy of LissA (Lissa Achtermeyer), a German singer-songwriter who saw a rise in popularity during the surge of electronic music featured on Youtube during the early 2010's. Since she began releasing her own music in 2015, her work with rising producers and unique brand of electro pop has attracted over 500 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify and over 50 million total streams.

Speaking on the collaboration, he added "I wrote Forbidden with LissA, who I've been a huge fan of for a long time and so already had a clear idea for what I wanted a collaboration between us to sound like. I aimed for the track to be as raw and intimate as possible and so kept the components very minimal, allowing her vocal take centre stage."

It was actually a chance encounter with the dog sitter of one of his favourite singer-songwriter duos Oh Wonder that led him to develop a relationship with them, with his remix of fan favourite ‘Lose It’, evolving him a fan base long before his first commercial release. Now, having already been discovered by SG Lewis via Instagram live this summer, he plans on rounding the year off with the release of his debut EP ‘Close to You’, which is set to feature further collaborations from up and coming artists De Rien and Georgie O’Brien.
