Charli XCX releases latest single 'Claws' from upcoming Album

Charli XCX has released her latest lockdown single ‘Claws’ from her upcoming album 'Feeling Now'. This transformative track experiments with snappy and futuristic electronic production, and tells the story of “the manic jubilation of love in lockdown”. The British star first teased the track with lyrics posted to her Twitter account, soon followed by a vocal demo of the song on Instagram Live. After revealing that the track was produced by Dylan Brady of 100 gecs, Charli asked fans to help her decide on a definitive name for the tentatively titled ‘Claws’. And thus, the track was born.

Creating an LP from scratch during the Coronavirus-enforced quarantine is Charli’s innovative way of sharing music and connecting with her loyal fanbase during these turbulent times. Speaking on How I’m Feeling Now, Charli said: “The nature of this album is gonna be very indicative of the times just because I’m only gonna be able to use the tools I have at my fingertips to create all music, all artwork, all videos…everything – in that sense, it’ll be very DIY.”

At its core, ‘Claws’ demonstrates the homemade aspect of music production, toying with layers of glitchy pop infusion with lyrics that detail the singer’s newfound crush. We can't wait to hear the rest of the Album.
