Lilac Haze Unveils Debut EP 'My Dreamworld'

Bath, UK - Lilac Haze, the captivating dream pop artist behind the project name, Katrina Swift, is thrilled to announce the release of her debut four-track studio EP, 'My Dreamworld,' which hit the airwaves on October 27th, 2023.

Katrina Swift, based in Bath, is heavily influenced by the music of the '80s and '90s, drawing inspiration from iconic acts like The Cure, All About Eve, Eva Cassidy, and Fleetwood Mac. Her music combines ethereal textures and atmospheric soundscapes, creating a sense of nostalgic romance that transports listeners to another realm.

Lilac Haze's musical journey took flight in 2023 with the release of her debut double singles, "The Ghost That I Once Knew" and "Lilac Haze" in March, gaining praise from esteemed platforms like RTE, Music Daily, and Noctis Magazine. August witnessed the release of the EP's first single, "Daisy Girl," which was celebrated by Wonderland, Baby Step Magazine, and Northern Transmission. The single also garnered airplay on BBC Introducing and Islington Radio.

For her debut EP, 'My Dreamworld,' Lilac Haze joined forces with co-producer Calum Wotherspoon (Nightswimming) at Joe's Garage in Bristol. The EP was mastered by Adam Ayan (known for his work with Paul McCartney, Lana Del Ray, and Carrie Underwood). Lilac Haze collaborated with guitarist Dylan Osafo and drummer Callum Maloney throughout the EP, creating a musical journey that explores change, new beginnings, letting go of fear, and embracing the present moment.

Katrina Swift's classically trained background, combined with her high, gentle vocals, beautifully complement the lush guitar lines, delicate synths, and shuffling drums that define the EP's euphoric sound.

When asked about her intentions for the EP, Katrina shared, "I wanted to create something that would transport the listener to another world where dreams and hopes don't feel like a million miles away or unreachable, and to know that things can get better no matter how bleak the reality may seem."

Prior to the EP's release, the title track, "My Dreamworld," dropped on September 29th, 2023. This track was a co-write and collaboration with Julianne Regan of All About Eve. Reflecting on the process, Katrina expressed her excitement about collaborating with Julianne and the joy of creating music together. "My Dreamworld" is a song that delves into the world of subconscious feelings and emotions that come alive in dreams, crafting their unique reality.
