SUDS Drop "Hard For Me" from Upcoming Debut Album
SUDS, the rising indie sensation, has released an enchanting video for their latest single, "Hard For Me," which is set to be featured on their debut album, "The Great Overgrowth," scheduled for release on November 3rd via Big Scary Monsters.
"Hard For Me" kicks off with an infectious guitar hook, quickly becoming a fan favorite. The track delves into introspection, with SUDS reflecting on past relationships and experiencing moments of deep contemplation. Vocalist Maisie Cater shares bittersweet realizations like "it's a part of me, and it startled me, to think about the way that it was." The accompanying video adds a comforting touch to the song, featuring fun, DIY clips of the band finding fulfillment, love, and happiness through their strong friendship.
Following the success of their debut EP, "In The Undergrowth," released in 2022, the quartet embarked on a journey to Kent to work with producer Ian Sadler (known for his work with Roam and Anavae), ready to explore the next chapter of their musical journey. Their debut album, "The Great Overgrowth," is a captivating collection filled with addictive melodies and moments of optimism. Songwriters Cater and Ames take an evocative and sometimes literary approach to their lyrics, drawing inspiration from midwest emo and the 1960s Greenwich Village folk scene. They often found themselves immersed in the words of literary giants like Woody Guthrie, Allen Ginsberg, Bob Dylan, and Brontez Purnell during their writing process.
Despite their fresh faces, SUDS exudes maturity and drive, positioning them as one of the most promising emerging artists of 2023. "The Great Overgrowth" is set to drop on November 3, 2023, via Big Scary Monsters and is available for pre-order now. SUDS shares their thoughts on "Hard For Me," noting, "Hard For Me is about looking back and realizing you didn't know the person you loved as much as you thought. We wanted this video to show that contentment can be found amongst other loved ones while making memories. Nothing beats having a laugh with your mates on a day out."
