Leeds duo Lucky Iris have released their debut mixtape fall in love with the dj, out now via Launchpad+ and EMI North. The project arrives alongside the release of its title track, fall in love with the dj.
Made up of six tracks, the mixtape brings together material released over the past year with new music that reflects the club-focused roots of the band. Written and produced by Maeve and Jasper, the project draws heavily on late nights, small rooms, and the early experiences that shaped their sound.
Speaking about the title track, Maeve explains that the song was written after a night out in Leeds and reflects the feeling of connection found in club spaces — standing close to the speakers, hearing the right song at the right moment, and feeling understood through music.
The mixtape follows a breakout year for Lucky Iris. Recent singles i just want to dance, play me like a speaker and heart 4 heart have gained strong support across press and radio, while the duo completed their first UK tour in late 2025 supporting Master Peace. They have also shared stages with artists including Babymorocco, Dorian Electra, Hannah Diamond, Bimini and Jessica Winter, and appeared at SXSW London 2025.
Originally starting as a bedroom pop project during lockdown, Lucky Iris have since developed a more club-driven sound. For fall in love with the dj, they worked with mixing engineer Richard Wilkinson (Adele, Bombay Bicycle Club) and producer Felipe Arvelo, helping shape a sharper, more electronic direction.
Lucky Iris will support the release with a run of UK live dates through January, February and March.
