Chloe on New Single “Shooting Star”

Emerging singer-songwriter Chloe is building a name for herself through raw, relatable songwriting and a voice that cuts straight to the heart. Drawing from Americana, country, and pop influences, her music explores empowerment, heartache, moving on, and finding love again — all delivered with smooth, breathy vocals and a confident, independent edge.

With four consecutive tracks featured on BBC Introducing, Chloe continues to gain momentum as she prepares to release her upcoming EP Swings & Roundabouts, co-written and produced with Tyler Spicer. Her latest single “Shooting Star” captures a feel-good moment of rediscovery and connection, pairing playful pop Americana energy with the honest storytelling she’s becoming known for.

We caught up with Chloe to talk about the inspiration behind “Shooting Star,” her BBC Introducing support, and what listeners can expect next.

“Shooting Star” is described as playful, pop Americana with a ‘marmite’ energy. What was it about this song that made you fall in love with it straight away in the studio?

The kick beat and midtempo vibes!!!!! The energy in this one is great. I just love it and hope you do too.

The track was inspired by falling in love again. How did that emotional headspace influence the lyrics and the confident, feel-good tone of the song?

Yes capturing that feel - good moment. It was actually from witnessing seeing a shooting star and just feeling electricity with this person and sharing that moment together and then re-pivoting that towards your feelings towards them directly.

You’ve had four consecutive tracks featured on BBC Introducing, which is a huge achievement for an emerging artist. How has that support shaped your confidence and expectations going into this release?

Yes indeed, thank you. Dean Jackson from BBC Nottingham has been extremely supportive and I am forever grateful. I think if people like what you are putting out they will continue to support throughout. That's the hope anyway!

You’re working closely with Tyler Spicer on your upcoming EP Swings & Roundabouts. What does that collaboration bring out in you creatively, and how does Shooting Star set the tone for the project?

Swings & Roundabouts is about the trials and tribulations of dating so this is the most upbeat of all the tracks. Expect a little more grit and rock vibe from the next one!

With its funky, fresh vibe and punchy kick drum, Shooting Star feels built for repeat listens. How do you balance fun, radio-ready energy with the raw, relatable songwriting you’re known for?

A clever producer and good vibes on studio days hahaha. My biggest passion is the songwriting element I mainly focus on lyrics and melody and Tyler builds the rest so i'm grateful we have a good vibe working together. This just was born on the day of writing it really it did take many revisions though. One of those slow burner tracks that takes a while to finalise, but I am over the moon with the final song. Huge thank you to all the team on this one... working with Tyler as co-writer & Producer, Brian Sheil as the mixing engineer & Sam Moses as the mastering engineer.
