London-based French-Cameroonian indie pop artist and producer YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB is back with her third single of the year, NEVERWANNAGOHOME — a bright, groove-laced indie pop anthem inspired by friendship, belonging and the kind of nights out you never want to end.
Co-produced with friend and frequent collaborator Song Higginson, the new track sees YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB lean into a more upbeat, danceable sound, pairing infectious melodies with a warm indie-dance pulse. It’s a song that captures the joy of feeling completely present — surrounded by the right people, in the right place, with no desire to head home any time soon.
Written as an ode to her friends, London and the city’s nightlife, NEVERWANNAGOHOME marks a lighter and more celebratory turn for the artist, while still holding onto the emotional honesty that underpins her songwriting. Starting from a chord progression saved on her phone, the track grew into a feel-good release that bottles the rush of those fleeting moments when everything feels exactly as it should.
With its upbeat energy, catchy hooks and sense of youthful freedom, NEVERWANNAGOHOME further showcases YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB’s ability to blend introspective songwriting with effortlessly cool indie-pop production. It’s a track about connection, community and living in the moment — and one that feels tailor-made for sticky summer nights and packed-out dancefloors.
As she continues to build momentum in 2026, NEVERWANNAGOHOME arrives as another confident step forward from one of London’s most exciting emerging alt-pop voices.
