THE STREETS RETURN WITH FIRST NEW ALBUM IN 12 YEARS AND ACCOMPANYING FILM

Mike Skinner is making a triumphant return with The Streets, announcing their first full-length album in 12 years, titled 'The Darker The Shadow, The Brighter The Light'. Set to release on October 20, the album will be accompanied by a feature film of the same name, which Skinner has written, directed, shot, edited, scored, funded, and created special effects for.

'The Darker The Shadow, The Brighter The Light' comprises 15 tracks and will be released via 679 Recordings and Warner Music UK LTD. It serves as the highly anticipated follow-up to The Streets' 2011 album 'Computers and Blues'. The 2020 mixtape 'None of Us Are Getting Out of This Life Alive' featuring collaborations with Tame Impala, Ms Banks, and Hak Baker was a precursor to this full-length project.

Skinner previously used the title 'The Darker The Shadow The Brighter The Light' for a side project, releasing an album under the same name in 2021. Now, he has fully realized his vision for the album and film, stating, "It has been seven long years working on this film and album. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and after dipping my toe in with some shorts and music videos, I felt I was ready. I tried to go the traditional route for a bit, but it’s always served me better to follow my instincts and just get on with it myself."

The Streets will celebrate the album's release with a three-week headline tour across England and Scotland, commencing on October 26 in Nottingham and culminating at London's Alexandra Palace on November 16. Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster, with pre-ordering the album granting fans pre-sale access.

To mark the announcement, The Streets have unveiled the album's first single, "Troubled Waters," along with an accompanying music video. The single sets the tone for the album's gritty and compelling sound, showcasing Skinner's unique storytelling abilities.

Fans can anticipate a return to The Streets' signature style and lyrical prowess with 'The Darker The Shadow, The Brighter The Light', as Mike Skinner once again immerses listeners in his captivating musical world.
