Swim Swim Naked: Making a Splash with Colour, Kindness, and Kazoos

Budapest duo Swim Swim Naked aren’t afraid to dive deep — or get a little weird while they’re at it. Dressed in bold jumpsuits and tangled in a web of colourful cables, singer Krisztina Nagy and producer Dani Makkay are reimagining electronic pop as something both playful and profound. Their sound fuses bright melodies and experimental rhythms with a DIY charm that feels refreshingly human — where splashing water becomes percussion and kindness is the ultimate rebellion.
Following their debut Octopus EP, which invited listeners to take a metaphorical swim through sound and self-expression, the pair return with “Cool,” a funk-laced new single that blends vocal harmonies, groove, and even a kazoo. Beneath its sunny hooks lies a quietly radical message: stay true, stay kind, and keep your creativity afloat even when the world turns upside down.
The accompanying video brings that philosophy to life in dreamy pastels and nostalgic detail — a surreal day at the pool starring lifeguards, cleaners, and even Dani’s own grandmother. Shot with friends and family, it radiates the warmth and openness at the heart of Swim Swim Naked’s art: a reminder that connection, joy, and a splash of absurdity might just be the coolest things of all.
Sylvan Esso - Runaway
The first band we chose, Sylvan Esso is very special to us. They were the first band Kriszti ever introduced to Dani, and they’ve been Kriszti’s favorite since high school. Their sound, their message, and the way they perform are incredibly inspiring. What we love the most is how honest and authentic they are, and how they use their platform to raise awareness for important issues. We often try to figure out what kind of gear they use to achieve their sounds.
Jungle - Us Against The World
Another big inspiration for us is Jungle. We once went to see them live together, and it was absolutely cool. A lot of energy, lights, rhythms, and playfulness, all while feeling effortless.
Cari Cari - Enter Crocodile Mountain
Cari Cari is a band Dani introduced to Kriszti for the first time. One of their songs quickly became our ultimate sing-along track for road trips. We’ve actually seen them live twice, and at one of those shows, we even got the chance to be their support band. Beyond their music, they are such kind, creative, and inspiring people.
ConcernedApe - Summer (Tropicala)
We both love playing Nintendo, and one of our favorites is Stardew Valley. We adore its soundtrack, especially the catchy summer themes.
