Silva Bumpa Kickstarts 2024 With Vintage UK Garage Cut 'Without U ' Featuring Rising Vocalist Megan Wroe

Sheffield's own songwriter, and producer, Silva Bumpa, unleashes his latest single 'Without U' today, January 26th. After a whirlwind year touring the globe alongside industry heavyweights, Bumpa's track, featuring rising star Megan Wroe, drops via the influential label Locked On Records.

Building on the success of his recent hit 'What About The DJ?', 'Without U' throws it back to the pulsating vibes of the 2000s Garage scene. Infusing soulful pop elements into the energetic speed Garage groove, the track echoes the nostalgia of Sheffield's T2 classic, 'Heartbroken'. Wroe's vocals seamlessly complement Bumpa's infectious bassline, showcasing their undeniable artistic synergy.

Reflecting on the track, Bumpa shares, "I've been drawn to the cheeky speed garage sound of 2007, like the tunes from the Danny Bond CDs and Sound of Bassline. Collaborating with Megan was a blast; she brings the perfect voice to this vibe."

Wroe adds, "Whenever we collaborate, we aim to weave a storyline. 'Without U' narrates an upbeat tale of a near-miss relationship, questioning whether to move on or not. It's relatable and fun because who hasn't been there?"

Bumpa's signature sound fuses UK bass grit with the infectious bounce of club classics, capturing the essence of mid-noughties bassline with solid songwriting. Set to drop his most ambitious EP yet, 'What About The DJ?', on Locked On Records this March, Bumpa's momentum is unstoppable. Amidst a buzzing period, his monthly residency at Sheffield's Hope Works continues to thrive, while key sets at London's Village Underground and Boiler Room in Liverpool, alongside Skream & Benga, promise an electrifying start to the year.
