Semiratruth Announces Debut Electronic Album S!M and Unveils Hypnotic New Single 'Tudo Bem!'

Brooklyn-based, Chicago-born artist Semiratruth has announced their debut electronic album, S!M, arriving September 25 via Sooper Records, alongside the release of its euphoric lead single and accompanying video, 'Tudo Bem!'. Marking a bold new chapter, S!M is the first album Semiratruth has written, recorded, produced and mixed entirely on their own. Across 22 tracks, the project shifts the focus from the artist's acclaimed lyricism to an expansive electronic sound world, blending acid, juke, baile funk and industrial textures with the cosmic synth explorations of the 1970s and the spirit of spiritual jazz.
Entirely self-produced, the record emerged through improvisation, allowing instinct to guide every composition.
"S!M is a project that constantly shifts," Semiratruth explains. "None of the songs were created by force. They all spilled out of me through improvisation. It's deep, it's fun, it's outrageous, it's gorgeous, it's clever, and then some. I've never felt more like me, unapologetically."
Leading the announcement is 'Tudo Bem!'—Portuguese for "everything's good"—a transportive electronic cut that drifts effortlessly between underground club rhythms and celestial ambience. Accompanied by a mesmerising visual directed by Atlas*Morgan, the single captures the album's adventurous spirit while embodying a newfound sense of freedom.
"The track feels like the turning point in my life," says Semira. "Shifting into an unfamiliar timeline where 'everything is good,' even when things say otherwise in the present. This song makes me feel good and makes me move freely."
Built from improvisations using a demo version of FL Studio and an Arturia MicroFreak—with no samples—the album reflects Semiratruth's instinctive approach to production and their ability to create richly textured electronic landscapes from minimal tools.
Already celebrated for boundary-pushing releases and immersive live performances, Semiratruth has become one of underground music's most distinctive voices, earning praise from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Bandcamp, The Wire and Okayplayer. Their hardware-driven performances have taken them from DIY spaces across the US to Guatemala and the Netherlands, cementing a reputation for transforming dancefloors into immersive sonic worlds.
With S!M, Semiratruth delivers their most ambitious statement yet—an expansive, genre-defying electronic record that embraces experimentation, improvisation and radical self-expression while firmly establishing them as one of contemporary electronic music's most compelling new innovators.
