Rosellas return with soaring new single ‘Beautiful Lonely’ and announce Shadow Dancing EP

Manchester indie-rock outfit Rosellas have kicked off 2026 with the release of their new single ‘Beautiful Lonely’, the first glimpse of their upcoming EP Shadow Dancing, arriving 13 May via First Run Records.

Blending shimmering guitars with reflective lyricism, ‘Beautiful Lonely’ leans into the band’s knack for uplifting, melodic rock — a sound that has drawn comparisons to The War On Drugs, Sam Fender and The La’s. The track marks Rosellas’ first new material of the year and signals an ambitious new chapter for the Mancunian quartet.

Discussing the inspiration behind the song, the band explain:“Beautiful Lonely is a song about looking for answers, both in other people and within yourself. We thought the mirror imagery was a nice way to show how people present different versions of themselves — the one we show the world and the one we see when we’re alone.”

The single arrives after a busy 2025 for Rosellas, which saw them release the Every Beautiful Night EP, followed by an acoustic reinterpretation titled Every Beautiful Night: Sundown Edition. Alongside their releases, the band also gained growing radio support, including features on Radio X’s X-Posure with John Kennedy, BBC Introducing, and BBC 6 Music.

The band have also landed high-profile playlist placements, appearing on official playlists for Formula 1, Wimbledon, and the Betfred Super League, helping their melodic indie sound reach an even wider audience.

Formed in Manchester, Rosellas — Drew Selby (vocals/guitar), Euan Mail (guitar), Ollie Appleby (bass) and Mark Zanker (drums) — began after Selby and Mail struck up a conversation on a train home from a Blossoms gig. Since then, the group have steadily built momentum, headlining stages at Truck Festival and This Feeling’s Isle of Wight, while also selling out a show at Manchester Academy 2.

To celebrate the upcoming EP, Rosellas will hit the road this spring for their Shadow Dancing UK tour, with dates running throughout March, April and May, culminating in a hometown show at Band On The Wall in Manchester.
