Radio Free Alice return with exhilarating new single 'Kick in the Shins' ahead of packed festival season

Melbourne post-punk outfit Radio Free Alice have unleashed blistering new single 'Kick in the Shins', a restless, riff-driven anthem that arrives as the band continue their rapid ascent ahead of a huge summer of festival appearances.
Produced by acclaimed collaborators Ewan Pearson (Depeche Mode, Franz Ferdinand) and Peter Katis (Interpol, The National), the track finds the Australian four-piece leaning further into their sharp-edged new wave sound, pairing angular guitars and driving rhythms with Noah Learmonth's characteristically incisive lyricism. Punctuated by Michael Phillips' punchy saxophone lines, 'Kick in the Shins' captures the chaotic energy that has quickly become Radio Free Alice's trademark.
"'Kick in the Shins' is a fusion of two songs that never felt all the way complete," explains Learmonth. "We wanted to create a song you could jump around to. At its core, it explores the feeling of being confused by the culture around you, and the isolation that often comes with that confusion."
The single is accompanied by a striking visualiser filmed on the coast of northern France by Hannah Murrell, adding another cinematic layer to the band's latest release. The track follows recent Atlantic Records debut 'Lunch Money', which arrived alongside the band's breakout appearance at New York's Governors Ball and a sold-out headline aftershow. With praise continuing to pour in from Rolling Stone, NME, Billboard, The FADER and Stereogum, Radio Free Alice are quickly cementing themselves as one of the most exciting young names in modern guitar music.
Fresh from appearances at Rock Werchter and Bilbao BBK Live, the band now head into a packed run of festival dates including Tramlines, Truck Festival, Reading Festival and Way Out West, before making their Riot Fest debut in Chicago this September.
Still yet to release their debut album, Radio Free Alice have already built an enviable reputation through relentless touring, sold-out headline shows across the UK, Europe and North America, and an explosive run of EPs. With 'Kick in the Shins' adding another exhilarating chapter to their story, the Melbourne quartet continue to prove they're one of post-punk's most compelling new forces.
