Porij Share Euphoric New Single ‘I’m Your Lover (Only)’

Fresh off the back of their critically acclaimed debut album Teething, Porij are back with a brand-new single, I’m Your Lover (Only) — a shimmering slice of dance-pop that lands just in time to soundtrack the tail end of summer.

The new track — out now — marks the quartet’s first release since Teething catapulted them into the alt-pop spotlight earlier this year. Co-produced by the band and studio wizard David Wrench (Frank Ocean, The xx), Teething earned glowing reviews across the board, with Clash calling it “cerebral, constantly in flux,” and NME hailing it as a “swaggering collection of complex-but-catchy cuts.”

On I’m Your Lover (Only), Porij channel their signature fusion of club energy and emotional candour. Vocalist Egg describes it as “about accidentally falling in love. You can’t always pick when it happens — this is about leaning in, going with the flow and enjoying it for what it is without overthinking.”

The single arrives alongside a ludicrously fun music video, filmed on a whirlwind 48-hour trip to Ibiza. “Jacob called the original piano and drum hook ‘Beefa’ on Soundcloud,” the band explain. “So we thought it would be rude not to film the video there. We found a villa tucked away in the north of the island, soaked up the sun, hit Amnesia for Bicep’s Boiler Room, and leaned into a full ‘Kevin & Perry’ vibe.”

The video, all sun-kissed shots and tongue-in-cheek nostalgia, taps into the chaos and charm of a first holiday with mates — poolside beers, daft antics, and the kind of unfiltered joy that sits at the heart of Porij’s appeal. Following a sold-out UK tour — including a standout night at London’s Electric Ballroom — Porij will headline Signature Brew as part of Dork’s Day Out on August 2nd.
