After months of teasing the track across festival stages around the world, Australian electronic innovator Ninajirachi and Grammy-nominated producer Porter Robinson have officially unveiled their long-awaited collaboration, 'WannaCry'.

Premiered during Ninajirachi's recent run of live shows—including Coachella, Primavera Sound, EDC Las Vegas and Dark Mofo—the single marks the first official collaboration between two of electronic music's most forward-thinking artists.

WannaCry is more than a meeting of musical minds—it's the culmination of a creative relationship that stretches back over a decade. As a teenager, Ninajirachi attended her very first concert to see Porter Robinson perform at Sydney's Enmore Theatre. Earlier this month, she returned to the same venue to headline a sold-out show as part of her Dark Crystal V series, bringing the story full circle.

Written from the perspective of the infamous 2017 WannaCry ransomware virus, the track transforms digital chaos into shimmering electronic pop, pairing Robinson's emotive, melodic songwriting with Ninajirachi's hyper-detailed, boundary-pushing production. The result is a euphoric, crystalline anthem that perfectly captures both artists' shared fascination with internet culture and the emotional possibilities of electronic music.

The release arrives during a landmark year for Ninajirachi, whose acclaimed debut album I Love My Computer has cemented her as one of Australia's most exciting electronic exports. Following three ARIA Award wins, a Coachella debut and sold-out editions of her Dark Crystal live series, she continues to redefine the future of dance music with a sound that is as emotionally resonant as it is sonically adventurous.

For Porter Robinson, WannaCry adds another standout moment to an already celebrated career that has seen him shape modern electronic music through era-defining releases including Worlds, Nurture and most recently SMILE! :D. Renowned for his ability to blur the lines between pop, dance and digital culture, Robinson remains one of the genre's most influential voices.

Already a fan favourite after months of live previews, WannaCry finally arrives as one of 2026's most anticipated electronic releases, uniting two artists whose shared vision continues to push the boundaries of contemporary dance music.
