My Life Story, the iconic Britpop pioneers, are gearing up for the release of their first album in five years, and they're kicking off the excitement by sharing the exhilarating opening track, "Running Out Of Heartbeats." Mixed by acclaimed producer Ben Hillier, known for his work with Depeche Mode, this electronica-infused anthem carries a mechanized groove and futuristic sheen, showcasing the band's continued evolution in sound.

Inspired by astronaut Neil Armstrong's quote about the finite nature of human heartbeats, "Running Out Of Heartbeats" dives into philosophical reflections on love, life, and their impact on our existence, as explained by chief songwriter Jake Shillingford. In addition to its profound lyrics, the track pulsates with a sense of uncontainable discovery and arrangements that shimmer with unlimited possibility. This single will be featured alongside other releases such as "Numb Numb Numb," "Tits & Attitude," and "I'm A God" on My Life Story's upcoming album, 'Loving You Is Killing Me,' scheduled for release on February 9th, 2024, via Exilophone Records/Republic Of Music.

The album, delving into themes of empathy, profaneness, vaingloriousness, coercive behavior, and naturism, follows the success of My Life Story's last critically acclaimed album, 'World Citizen,' released in 2019 after a hiatus of 19 years.

Frontman Jake Shillingford explains, "Loving You is Killing Me" as a lyric taken from the album's opening track, indicating a reflection on the investment in relationships and the potential price to pay for unconditional love.

The album, published by Mute Song, is a collaborative effort between Jake, Nick Evans, and mixer Ben Hillier. The full track listing for 'Loving You Is Killing Me' includes ten diverse tracks that promise a rich musical experience.

Originally formed in 1984, My Life Story emerged as a driving force of the Britpop movement. With six UK top 40 singles and a top 40 album, the band worked with industry legends from Morrissey to The Pogues and performed at prestigious events like Glastonbury and Reading Festival.

To celebrate the album release, My Life Story will embark on a UK tour, including two shows at London's 100 Club, marking their return to the capital after over two years. Jake Shillingford will also host intimate instore shows across the UK during the album's release week, offering fans a chance to experience a short acoustic set and album signing.
