With her fourth studio album Unclouded landing this Friday, Melody’s Echo Chamber ignites the week with the release of her shimmering new single “The House That Doesn’t Exist” — accompanied by a beautifully haunting video from longtime collaborator Diane Sagnier.
Built on swooping strings and vertigo-inducing ascents, the track captures the magnetic creative chemistry between Melody and producer Sven Wunder. Her verse lines flicker with electricity, each met in turn by a lush, responsive ensemble. “The House That Doesn’t Exist turns the impossible perspective of a joyful human life in today’s world into reality, evoking a new sense of faith,” Melody says. Next week, fans can connect with Melody in person: she’ll appear for a Q+A and signing at Rough Trade East, London, on Wednesday 10 December.
Unclouded gathers together an impressive constellation of collaborators, including co-producer Sven Wunder, strings wiz Josefin Runsteen, Dina Ögon’s Daniel Ögren and Love Örsan, British drum titan Malcolm Catto, and Dungen’s Reine Fiske. Leon Michels contributes to the album’s closer and recent single “Daisy,” mixed by Grammy-winner Jens Jungkurth.
The album arrives buoyed by early singles “In The Stars,” praised by Clash for its “drifting psych-pop ambience”; “Eyes Closed,” named one of Under the Radar’s “Best Songs of the Week”; and El Michels Affair collaboration “Daisy,” hailed by Stereogum as “bright, delicate and airy.”
Reflecting on the album’s warm, lucid spirit, Melody says: “My deeper love for the living experience inspires me. I still get ups and downs but I’m faster at getting back to more harmonious feelings.” Unclouded, she adds, celebrates the present moment in all its forms.
Melody’s Echo Chamber will bring that energy to stages across Europe and North America in 2026, including a headline show at London’s Electric Ballroom on 21 April 2026.
