Lucky Iris return today with ‘i just want to dance’

Building on the momentum of their day to night EP earlier this year, ‘i just want to dance’ captures the rush of freedom and emotion that comes with stepping onto the dancefloor for the first time. Blending sugar-coated vocal hooks with weighty bass hits and effervescent production, it’s their most confident and infectious release to date.

This latest evolution sees the duo collaborate with Richard Wilkinson (Adele, Kaiser Chiefs) on mixing duties, and acclaimed visual artist Aran Llewelyn Harris (Dazed, i-D, The Face), who brings the track’s artwork and visual world to life. The result is a dazzling statement of intent — a declaration of everything Lucky Iris stand for: emotional release, electronic energy, and total creative control.

Since forming during lockdown, Lucky Iris have emerged as one of the most exciting new voices in alternative pop, earning support from BBC Radio 1, Rolling Stone UK, DIY, Clash, and more. Following shows alongside Lynks, Dorian Electra, Jessica Winter, and Master Peace, they now head into their biggest year yet. ‘i just want to dance’ marks the start of a vibrant new chapter for the duo — one that leans into the thrill of movement, memory, and making sense of life through sound.
