SOUND CITY ANNOUNCES THIRD WAVE OF NAMES

In the beating heart of Liverpool, a city synonymous with musical heritage and innovation, Sound City 2024 has unveiled its eagerly awaited festival lineup and day splits, promising an unparalleled celebration of music's bright future. As the UK's longest-running showcase festival, Sound City has become a beacon for music discovery, propelling artists like Ed Sheeran and Stormzy into the global spotlight. This year, from May 4th to 5th, the festival is set to continue its legacy, spotlighting essential new artists who are set to shape the musical landscape in the year ahead.

Leading the third wave of announced acts is the legendary Michael Head & The Red Elastic Band, taking the prestigious spot as the Sunday afternoon headliner. Michael Head, with a career spanning decades from The Pale Fountains to Shack, remains a pivotal figure in Liverpool's music scene, known for his heartfelt melodies and poignant storytelling. His performance is set to be a highlight, offering a rare opportunity to witness one of Liverpool's own in the grandeur of the Central Hall.

Joining him is an eclectic mix of artists across various genres, signaling Sound City's commitment to musical diversity. From the post-punk vibes of Home Counties to the indie grooves of Flat Party and the genre-defying sounds of DellaXOZ, the lineup is a testament to the festival's reputation as the home of new music discovery.
