Liana Flores Announces New EP And so it goes… and Unveils Dreamy New Single "Silvershoes"

British-Brazilian singer-songwriter Liana Flores has announced her new EP, And so it goes…, arriving 4 September via Fiction / Verve Records, alongside the release of enchanting new single "Silvershoes."
A shimmering blend of bossa nova, indie folk and sophisticated pop, "Silvershoes" finds Flores stepping into the shoes of a Hollywood waitress dreaming of a more glamorous life. Inspired by themes of hope, ambition and longing, the track captures the universal pull of imagining what lies beyond the everyday.
Speaking about the song's inspiration, Flores cites Virginia Postrel's The Power of Glamour: "Glamour gives us pleasure, even as it heightens our yearning. It leads us to feel that the life we dream of exists, and to desire it even more."
Recorded in Los Angeles with Grammy-nominated producer Paul Butler (Michael Kiwanuka, Lord Huron, The Teskey Brothers), And so it goes… builds on the lush bossa nova foundations of Flores' acclaimed 2024 debut album, Flower of the soul, which has now surpassed 84 million global streams.
The six-track collection marks a new chapter for Flores, inspired by her move from rural Norfolk to London and the excitement, uncertainty and glamour of city life. While retaining her signature delicate songwriting, the EP expands into brighter, more playful territory, weaving together Brazilian pop, folk storytelling and understated funk.
"This record is the story of the country girl moving to the city," Flores explains. "It's bossa nova meets pop, inspired by the people, relationships and glamour of city life."
The announcement caps another milestone year for the fast-rising artist, who has opened for Men I Trust, Ichiko Aoba and Belle & Sebastian, while collaborating with bossa nova legend Roberto Menescal and acclaimed songwriter Mei Semones. Flores will also perform alongside Semones as part of Verve Records' 70th Anniversary Show at New York's Central Park SummerStage on 2 September.
This autumn, Flores will embark on an extensive headline tour across the UK, Europe and North America, including a London date at the Jazz Cafe on 15 September, as she continues her rapid ascent as one of contemporary indie music's most distinctive voices.
With And so it goes…, Liana Flores further cements her reputation as a leading figure in modern bossa nova, pairing timeless influences with fresh, elegant songwriting that continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
