Lei Hope releases new EP 'INERTA' via Heist or Hit

Manchester-based alt-R&B artist Lei Hope today releases his stunning new EP INERTIA via cult indie label Heist or Hit (Westside Cowboy, Her’s). Fusing woozy guitars with rich emotional depth, INERTIA captures Lei Hope at his most raw and refined. Across four genre-blurring tracks, the Zimbabwe-born, Leeds-raised artist explores themes of grief, estrangement and growth, tying together indie, R&B, soul and psychedelia into one cohesive statement of intent.

Early singles ‘LITTLE SIGN’ and ‘WAYO’ were met with acclaim from CLASH, DIY, BBC Radio 6, and The Line Of Best Fit, who praised Hope’s “crackling, delicate” sound. The full EP builds on that momentum, drawing influence from Daniel Caesar, Charlotte Day Wilson, and the emotional storytelling of Phoebe Bridgers — with Lei co-producing alongside Will Levison and Hassan Kairi.

From the clapped grooves of ‘LITTLE SIGN’ to the guttural introspection of closer ‘HYPERINDEPENDENCY’, INERTIA is both sonically rich and lyrically precise — a deeply personal document of navigating loss, and a powerful showcase of one of Manchester’s most exciting new voices.
