Kraków artist Martyna Basta announces new album Winged in Collapse via 7K

Martyna Basta has signed to Berlin-based exploratory imprint 7K and announced her third album Winged in Collapse, arriving 15 May 2026.

Alongside the news, the Polish composer, producer and singer-songwriter has shared new single “Hands Want To”—a fragile yet unsettling introduction to a record rooted in contrast, where softness collides with abrasion and comfort sits uneasily alongside grief.

Winged in Collapse finds Basta leaning into duality at every turn. Framed as a creature falling mid-flight, the album navigates what she describes as “lullament”—a blurred space between lullaby and lament—where intimacy and suffocation, tenderness and tension, exist in the same breath. Whispered vocals and chamber instrumentation drift through the record before being pierced by metallic textures, creating a sound world that feels both delicate and disquieting.

Drawing from shoegaze, baroque, and experimental electronic traditions, Basta continues to stretch her electroacoustic palette. Tracks like “Sob and Moan” intertwine harpsichord with warped, autotuned vocals, while “Laid”—featuring New York duo LEYA—leans into a darker, hymnal atmosphere built on uneasy strings. Elsewhere, collaborators including Rainy Miller, Felisha Ledesma and james K add further emotional depth, guiding the record from its most fragile moments toward a faint but vital sense of light.

Speaking on the album, Basta describes it as emerging from “a place of inner rupture,” shaped by a world that feels increasingly unstable. Yet within that weight, Winged in Collapse searches for something enduring—“an ember, a breath, a hand held in the dark.”

The announcement marks a natural home for Basta on 7K, the forward-thinking offshoot of !K7 Records known for championing boundary-pushing, composition-led work. With its tactile sound design and ritualistic visual world, Winged in Collapse stands as her most immersive and emotionally resonant project to date.

The album lands 15 May, with live dates across Europe to follow this spring and summer.
