KOJ launches a fearless new era with explosive single 'PUNK PANTHER'

Liverpool's uncompromising voice KOJ is back with 'PUNK PANTHER', a blistering new single that marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for one of the UK's most vital political artists. Fusing the grit of grime, the urgency of rap and the ferocity of punk, 'PUNK PANTHER' arrives as both a statement of intent and a rallying cry. Set against distorted production and razor-sharp lyricism, the track sees KOJ embrace his new persona as the "Punk Panther"—a fearless voice for the voiceless, unafraid to confront injustice head-on.

Speaking about the release, KOJ says: "I've recently been on a journey of self-discovery. After a period of spiritual renovations, hard work and dedication, I want to show the people dem who the Punk Panther is. A sound inspired by the feeling in the air at the moment—gritty, defiant, bossy. This record marks the dawn of a new era for me."

The single builds on the momentum of KOJ's acclaimed debut EP Villain With A Conscience, which earned praise from Clash, Wonderland, The Face, Apple Music and Amazon Music, while leading to standout performances at Boomtown, Latitude, Radio 1's Big Weekend, Reeperbahn and SXSW.

Where previous releases established KOJ as an unflinching commentator on race, class and inequality, 'PUNK PANTHER' sharpens that focus even further. Tackling themes of social division, state control and systemic oppression, the track delivers its message with relentless intensity, pairing politically charged storytelling with some of KOJ's heaviest production to date.

The release also serves as the first glimpse of KOJ's forthcoming dual-EP project, PUNK PANTHER, which promises to explore both the external pressures facing modern Britain and the internal struggles they create. It's an ambitious body of work that continues to blur the lines between protest music and contemporary UK rap, proving that politically engaged music can still hit with festival-sized energy.

Raw, urgent and impossible to ignore, 'PUNK PANTHER' doesn't simply announce KOJ's return—it cements his place as one of the UK's most compelling and uncompromising voices.
