King Falcon announce new EP Bloom with soaring alt-rock anthem 'Hourglass'

New York City trio King Falcon have announced their forthcoming EP Bloom, arriving 18th September, alongside the release of powerful new single 'Hourglass'.

A soaring slice of guitar-driven alternative rock, 'Hourglass' pairs towering riffs with introspective lyricism as the Brooklyn band continue to refine the infectious, high-energy sound that's quickly established them as one of New York's most exciting rising rock acts. The release is accompanied by a performance-led video that bottles the raw intensity of the band's acclaimed live show.

Frontman Michael Rubin describes the track as a reflection on the moments that shape us. "'Hourglass' is about looking back at certain moments in your life and questioning whether where you've ended up is actually any better than where you were before. Sometimes you lose a friend, and even though they're gone from your life, the empty chair at the table is hard to ignore."

Recorded while on tour in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the accompanying visual captures the trio's electrifying stage presence, stripping everything back to spotlight Rubin's commanding vocal performance and the band's trademark chemistry.

Bloom sees King Falcon pushing beyond the foundations of their 2023 self-titled debut, introducing fresh sonic textures while retaining the hook-heavy choruses, searing guitar work and unmistakable New York swagger that have become their calling card. "This EP is the bridge between our first record and more music we're currently working on for 2027," Rubin explains.

The announcement follows a string of standout singles including 'Holding Out', 'Wait' and 'Nothing Feels Amazing', each showcasing a different side of the band's evolving sound. Their recent momentum has earned praise from Classic Rock, Guitar World and Atwood Magazine, while cementing King Falcon's reputation as one of the city's most exciting modern rock exports.

Since forming in Brooklyn in 2020, King Falcon have built their reputation the old-fashioned way, playing more than 150 shows over the past two years and sharing stages with The Struts, Des Rocs and Sublime with Rome. With over 1.5 million streams, a growing fanbase and a run of New York live dates still to come this summer, Bloom feels perfectly timed to propel the trio to the next level.
