IMISSMYMOM Return With New Album IMISSMYMOM II and Dreamlike Single ‘Alive’
One of London's most intriguing underground acts, IMISSMYMOM, have announced their second album IMISSMYMOM II, arriving 10 July via Theft. Alongside the announcement, the band have unveiled the album's lead single and visual, 'Alive'—a hazy, emotionally charged introduction to their most ambitious project yet.
Building on the foundations of their earlier work, IMISSMYMOM II finds the band sharpening their signature blend of distorted guitars, melancholy melodies and raw emotional intensity. Across nine tracks, the group lean further into the cinematic world they've been crafting, balancing vulnerability and momentum with a newfound confidence.
From the driving urgency of 'Not Allowed' and 'River Run Dry' to the dark romanticism of 'Lust' and the reflective closer 'Cloud 09', the record captures a band fully settling into their identity. Tennessee's distinctive vocal delivery remains the project's emotional anchor, guiding listeners through a collection that feels equally intimate and expansive.
Adding another layer to the album's world is the involvement of acclaimed creative director and photographer Ib Kamara. After hearing early demos, Kamara personally championed the project and went on to shoot the campaign imagery. Speaking on the collaboration, the band said: "The link-up with IB happened after a studio session in which he heard the rough album demos and was enamoured with the project. It was then we decided that he would take the lead on our image for this album, and we are incredibly honoured to have him onboard."
Meanwhile, the video for 'Alive', directed by Nayayadream, presents the band in a dreamlike state, exploring themes of chaos, corruption and escapism. The visuals perfectly complement the group's self-described "heroin rock" aesthetic, further expanding the immersive universe surrounding the record.
With support continuing to build and a growing reputation as one of London's most exciting underground bands, IMISSMYMOM II feels less like a breakthrough and more like a statement of intent. Dark, melodic and undeniably compelling, it's the sound of a band stepping confidently into their next chapter.
