Fred again.. Headlines Launch of New Trans+ Future Sounds Series at Abbey Road Studios

A new chapter for trans+ talent in music begins this week as Trans+ Future Sounds launches with a landmark inaugural event at Abbey Road Studios on Friday 19 June. Presented by Trans Creative Collective (TCC) and We Are Moving The Needle, the Grammy Award-winning organisation founded by mastering engineer Emily Lazar, the new series is designed to empower and connect trans+ music creators through mentorship, skills development and industry access.

Leading the first event is global producer and songwriter Fred again.., who will host an exclusive 2.5-hour production and songwriting workshop inside one of the world's most iconic recording studios. He joins a standout lineup featuring Sans Soucis, Messie, Satch, Trans Voices, and TCC co-founder and Trans+ Future Sounds founder charlieeeee, whose new EP FISH FOOD is released the same day.

Bringing together 15 trans+ songwriters, 15 trans+ producers and 15 industry professionals, the free event will offer hands-on workshops, performances, networking opportunities and mentorship from some of the industry's most respected artists, managers, A&Rs and creative leaders.

The launch arrives against a stark industry backdrop. According to We Are Moving The Needle's Fix The Mix Report, just 2.3% of music producers are women, trans or non-binary. Trans+ Future Sounds has been created as a direct response — placing trans+ creators at the centre of the conversation and inside a studio that has shaped music history.

"Since we started TCC in 2021, our whole mission has been to make space for trans+ creatives to thrive, not just survive, in the music industry," says charlieeeee. "Getting to welcome our community into Abbey Road, and to have artists like Fred again.. want to give their time and expertise, is genuinely moving. We want every trans+ producer, songwriter and creator who walks through those doors to feel celebrated."

Founded in 2021, Trans Creative Collective has become one of the UK's leading communities for trans+ creators and allies across music, film and art, delivering workshops, mentoring programmes and industry partnerships while advocating for greater representation across the creative industries.

Alongside TCC, We Are Moving The Needle continues to drive change through scholarships, mentorships, research and advocacy programmes supporting women, trans and non-binary producers and engineers around the world.

With further events already planned throughout 2026, Trans+ Future Sounds is positioning itself as more than a one-off workshop. It's a platform built to nurture talent, build community and create lasting change in an industry where many voices are still underrepresented.

The inaugural Trans+ Future Sounds event takes place at Abbey Road Studios on Friday 19 June 2026 from 3pm–8pm. Further announcements are expected later this year.
