DIE SPITZ ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM SOMETHING TO CONSUME

Texas punk-noise provocateurs Die Spitz have announced their long-awaited debut album, Something to Consume, out September 12th via Third Man Records. Known for their riotous live shows and shapeshifting sound, the four-piece channel chaos, friendship, and furious intent into 11 genre-jumping tracks that tackle love, addiction, politics, and self-destruction.

The record is led by today’s blistering single “Throw Yourself to the Sword”, a mosh-pit-ready battle cry bursting with optimism and abandon. “Despite living in a state of mundanity or hopelessness, you can still rise up and fight the unknown — as long as you’re willing to throw yourself to it,” says vocalist and guitarist Ellie Livingston. The track arrives with a visceral video directed by Emily Sanchez — watch it below:

Produced by Will Yip (Turnstile, Mannequin Pussy), Something to Consume fuses hardcore, grunge, metal, and riot grrrl fury into something completely their own. “There’s a piece of all of us injected,” Livingston explains. “It’s a call to the multitudes of ways we as humans allow consumption to enrapture our culture — as well as ourselves.”#

Die Spitz — made up of Livingston, Ava Schrobilgen, Chloe De St. Aubin, and Kate Halter — formed in 2022 in Austin, bonded by deep friendship and a shared thirst to make something loud, weird, and real. Whether cartwheeling across the stage or crowd-surfing mid-solo, their shows have quickly become the stuff of underground legend.

Currently tearing through a European debut tour, with sold-out stops in Berlin and Cologne, the band will return to the U.S. for an extensive autumn run, including headline shows and a homecoming at Austin’s iconic Stubb’s.

Watch “Throw Yourself to the Sword” now and prepare to devour Something to Consume this September — an album as raw, raging, and real as the world that shaped it.
