Breaking Borders returns to Malta with Karan Aujla and AP Dhillon leading huge 2026 lineup

Breaking Borders, the world’s largest Desi destination festival, has announced its return to Malta from 3–6 September 2026, promising four days of music, culture and community on the Mediterranean island.

Following a hugely successful 2025 edition, the festival is set to expand its global footprint once again with a stacked lineup of South Asian artists and DJs. Leading the bill is Punjabi superstar Karan Aujla, who will make festival history by performing two headline sets across two nights — Friday and Sunday — each with completely different setlists, marking a career first for the global icon.

Reflecting on the announcement, Aujla said:“2025 was just the beginning, and 2026 is about to be something special. This year, I got a chance to headline two nights with two different setlists. This is something I've never done before. This festival represents Desi culture on a global stage, and being a part of that journey means a lot to me.”

Joining him at the top of the lineup is global hitmaker AP Dhillon, who has been confirmed as Saturday’s headliner, bringing his chart-dominating Punjabi and hip-hop crossover sound to the island.

Dhillon added:“Malta, I’m coming through. Proud to see how far our community’s reached. Can’t wait to headline Saturday and put on a show to remember.”

Beyond its headline acts, Breaking Borders 2026 will feature a wide-ranging roster of international talent including Jasmine Sandlas, Sukha, Tegi Pannu, The PropheC, Harkirat Sangha, BK, Panjabi MC, Miss Pooja and Prabh, alongside curated DJ takeovers from Desi Beatz and Jawani 4eva — spotlighting the next wave of South Asian party culture.

Blending large-scale live performances with community celebration, Breaking Borders continues its mission of showcasing Desi culture on a global stage, transforming Malta into a vibrant hub for South Asian music fans travelling from around the world.
