Blu DeTiger serves up disco-funk rush on infectious new single 'Shock!'

New York's bass virtuoso Blu DeTiger is back with 'Shock!', an effortlessly cool slice of funk-powered dance-pop that marks another bold step into her vibrant new era.

Produced by acclaimed duo The Outfit (Robin Hannibal and Dan Edinberg), the track pairs rubbery basslines with shimmering disco grooves and glossy 2000s R&B influences, resulting in one of DeTiger's most infectious releases to date. Arriving alongside an energetic official video, 'Shock!' also brings one of the musician's biggest passions into focus, with a playful, surreal visual centred around competitive table tennis.

"'Shock!' was one of the first songs I made for this new project," DeTiger explains. "It really unlocked the world I'm building with this era. It's all groove – funky, disco, boogie – but the vocals have this 2000s R&B flavour that makes it feel fresh and playful."

The release follows June's shimmering comeback single 'Whisper', continuing a sonic direction that leans deeper into disco, funk and dancefloor-ready hooks while retaining the inventive bass playing that has made DeTiger one of modern music's most distinctive instrumentalists.

The single arrives as DeTiger gears up for a packed run of summer performances. UK fans can catch an exclusive live bass DJ set at London's Jazz Café on 8th August, following an appearance at Flavor Flav's SHE Weekend in Las Vegas celebrating women's sport, before she returns home for a major slot at All Things Go NYC later this autumn.
