Billy's velvety vocals, coupled with the tender simplicity of piano arrangements, weave an emotive tapestry that pulls at the heartstrings. This release follows hot on the heels of his previous hit, "Finish Line," a genre-defying anthem delving into the complexities of love and loss, seamlessly blending soul and pop elements.

In a candid reflection on the new track, Lockett shares, "I Could Use A Friend is the song I’ve been looking for my whole life. I’ve gone back to my roots with this one, and even though it’s simplistically piano and vocals, it’s a step up. Every chord had to punch me in the heart or it was wrong. The lyrics are about feeling deeply alone throughout my life, whether it was at school or in adult life. I often go through patches where I feel extremely lost and sometimes for no obvious reason. I wrote this song while in one of those dark patches. Written right from my heart, I just love it so so much."

The accompanying music video offers an unfiltered view into Billy's world, adorned with his father's artwork and bathed in the warm glow of candlelight. It's an intimate portrayal of the artist navigating real and difficult emotions, inviting viewers into a secluded haven where vulnerability meets authenticity.

Reflecting on the video, Lockett says, “The video was shot in Abington Grove. I covered the walls in my dad’s artwork and felt it needed to follow the simplicity of the song. I didn’t want any gimmicks with this, just me and a piano at home, making it all about the song.”

Fresh off the press, Lockett's upcoming UK tour dates promise an electrifying live experience for fans. With shows in Birmingham, Northampton, and London already sold out and the London venue upgraded to XOYO due to high demand, tickets are in high demand [here].
