ree

On October 2nd, 250 young creatives aged 16-25 took over Co-op Live for Beyond The Band, a free-entry event giving a behind-the-scenes look at the music industry. Presented by Beyond The Music INSPIRE in partnership with Co-op Live and adidas Originals Recording Studio, the day connected local youth with top industry names, including Marcus Russell, Clare Byrne, Chris Hawkins, Rob Ballantine, John Robb, OneDa and more.

Panels covered everything from artist management and record labels to radio presenting, touring, and venue operations. Highlights included insights from Chris Hawkins on the diverse pathways into music, Marcus Russell sharing how to “make your own luck,” and venue advice from Guy Dunstan, GM of Co-op Live.

The day wrapped with a networking mixer, where attendees swapped contacts, asked questions, and left inspired to pursue careers behind the scenes in music.

Sarah Pearson and Oli Wilson, MDs of Beyond The Music, said:"Beyond The Band was a special day for the next generation of Manchester’s music industry… the feedback has been incredible."

Beyond The Music INSPIRE continues to champion Manchester’s youth, connecting students with music industry leaders and creating pathways into every corner of the industry.
