Beaks Returns with Poetic New Single 'TY (robbed the bank)' via dottidot

Vienna-based experimental post-punk artist Beaks has returned with her captivating new single, 'TY (robbed the bank)', released today via dottidot, the independent label founded by GRAMMY-nominated producer Maxwell Byrne (1tbsp, Golden Vessel).
The latest release sees multidisciplinary artist Anna Francesca continue carving out her distinctive space between post-punk, indie, pop and electronic music, pairing raw, emotionally charged songwriting with hazy guitar textures and lo-fi production.
Following the breakout success of her 2023 debut 'I Dropped the Bottle'—which has amassed more than four million streams and helped take Beaks to stages across London, Tokyo and Berlin—'TY (robbed the bank)' further showcases her gift for transforming intimate poetry into immersive, cathartic anthems.
Rather than dwelling in darkness, however, the new track offers a hopeful counterpoint. Inspired by friendship, connection and shared joy, Beaks describes the song as a reminder of "all the love we receive and the love we give."
"Looking at the scene right now... you will see a lot of darkness," she explains. "With this song and video I tried to remind myself of how bright, warm and colourful love can feel if you let it. 'TY (robbed the bank)' is a homage to friendship and to loving out loud."
Accompanied by a striking official video, the single continues Beaks' exploration of the blurred space between dreams and reality—a recurring theme throughout her work. Drawing from her background in photography, graphic design and poetry, she creates songs that balance vulnerability with defiance, tracing the fine line between ecstasy and despair.
Away from music, Francesca has worked internationally as a model for fashion houses including Celine, Vivienne Westwood, Miu Miu and Chanel, but it is through Beaks that her creative vision finds its fullest expression.
With festival appearances lined up across Germany, Italy and France throughout the summer and autumn, and a growing reputation as one of Europe's most intriguing alternative voices, 'TY (robbed the bank)' marks another compelling step forward for an artist firmly on the rise.
