beabadoobee Announces New Album Pylon, Shares Blistering New Single ‘Sun Has Set’

beabadoobee has announced her highly anticipated new album Pylon, due for release on 18 September via Dirty Hit/Interscope Records, alongside the release of its fierce first single ‘Sun Has Set’ and news of her first ever arena tour.

The follow-up to 2024’s UK Number 1 album This Is How Tomorrow Moves, Pylon finds Beatrice Laus stepping into a sharper, heavier and more confrontational sound.

Named after the electricity towers that line roads and motorways, the album reflects both the isolation of life on tour and the emotional connections that tethered her back home. It also doubles as a fitting symbol for a record buzzing with distortion, tension and the restless anxieties of your mid-twenties.

Leading the album is ‘Sun Has Set’, a raw and immediate new single that introduces Pylon as a collection of songs rooted in private thoughts and unsaid words. “A lot of the songs on this record are things I wish I could have said to someone,” Laus explains. “This song has this petty tunnel vision — it’s like, I hate you. You’re gonna stay here and listen to how much I hate you. Because I never got to say that.”

Musically, Pylon sees beabadoobee leaning further into grunge, Midwest emo and ’90s alt-rock, resulting in what looks set to be her most forceful and direct record to date. Across its 14 tracks, the album features an impressive cast of collaborators including Hayley Williams, Brendan Yates of Turnstile, Evan Stephens Hall of Pinegrove, Chino Moreno of Deftones and Shane Moran of Title Fight. Meanwhile, Write Me A Letter includes production from longtime friends and collaborators Matty Healy and George Daniel of The 1975.

Alongside the album announcement, beabadoobee has also unveiled details of The Powerlines Tour — her biggest run of shows yet and the first time she’ll headline arenas. Kicking off on 1 October in North America before heading to the UK and Europe in November and December, the tour will include major stops at Madison Square Garden, The Kia Forum, The O2 and more.

With Pylon, beabadoobee looks set to enter a new era — louder, sharper and more emotionally exposed than ever before.

Pylon is out 18 September via Dirty Hit/Interscope Records. ‘Sun Has Set’ is out now.
