Garage Shared Reflect On 5 Years as A Label

London's rhythmic heartbeat grows stronger as Garage Shared, the trailblazing UKG label, readies to blow out its fifth birthday candles this August! Brace yourself for a sonic celebration like no other, as they kick off their jubilant festivities with an electrifying series of releases. Leading the charge is Soulecta, the maestro of R&B-infused house-garage fusion, with his scintillating track 'Real Love,' featuring the captivating vocals of Hari. This isn't just music; it's a soulful groove engineered to make festival grounds tremble and clubs ignite!

Imagine the irresistible vibes of Conducta, the infectious spirit of Sammy Virji, and the prowess of the Kiwi Rekords collective – that's the Garage Shared essence. A rapid-fire barrage of 4x4 garage goodness engineered to commandeer dancefloors and set festival stages ablaze. The timing couldn't be more perfect; these tunes are the very soundtrack of summer. We spoke to them as they reflected on 5 years as a label.

What is the story of the label forming?

In 2017 we (FooR) mixed the latest in the famous Pure Garage compilation series we had searched high & wide for music suitable for the album. 2 of the producers we found were Soulecta & Blakk Habit, and we were so impressed with their production we contacted them with the idea of starting a label, We helped connect them with vocalists, so they could make some great original music, and then thought, We should help them release it. So that’s how it started, and we still do that now, we help the artists not only with the release but work with on the music to help them get there music to where they want it to be. 5 favorite releases on the label and why?

personal selfish one but it stayed around for so long and helped establish Soulecta whilst representing the upbeat feel of the label kyo - Freezing Point

Our label founders and one of UKGs most underrated dons collide, lulling you into a false sense of security before the shuffly beat and squelchy bass do the appropriate amount of dancefloor damage. Soulecta X Harri - Real Love

A record that defines the feelgood vibe that GS constantly puts out, with Soulecta showing off his evolution since being the first artist released on the label featuring sweet vocals from Hari to create our perfect summer Garage joint. -Best memory as a label?

Best memory, was our first-ever room takeover at the legendary Ministry of Sound - being able to showcase our artists with a whole night of new UK Garage was always one of our dreams from the start. Sharing new garage music has always been the goal hence the name 'Garage Shared' Dream release on the label?

We have been fans of Garage music for over 20 years so our dream releases would always be one of the legends. We have been lucky enough to have released music from Matt Jam Lamont, MC Neat already but Todd Edwards would be the dream release & the super mega dream would be a MJ Cole & Todd Edwards collab, we don't think they have ever collabed before. Plans for the label going forward?

To keep on releasing the best garage music from across the world. We want to do more events, there have been talks for some of the artists from the label to tour abroad, we would love to see that come to fruition, seeing the music we love played by the artists we believe in being shared across the world would be a beautiful thing.

We have also started to see more collaborations with the artists on the label, we are loving that and that could lead to some collaborative projects next year. Also, want to take helping artists make music part of our label to the next level, we are going to introduce label writing camps with singers, rappers & musicians to help bring the level of the music we are releasing up another level
