Saffron are tackling music tech’s gender imbalance with a new membership scheme.

Saffron have officially launched a new member’s club for womxn working or aspiring to work in music tech. The Memberships will be available via Patreon for female-identifying and non-binary people seeking opportunities to connect with other womxn working in the field.

The memberships are available in three tiers, membership perks range from a series of monthly online workshops to access to Saffron’s online library and one-on-one mentoring sessions. The non-profit Bristol-based Saffron was launched in 2015 with the aim of combatting gender imbalance in music tech – currently womxn only make up 5% of the industry. Since then they’ve run workshops and courses on music production, sound engineering, DJing and more. The organisation’s new membership system aims to extend access to its resources, offering membership levels from £5-£22 per month.
