YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB Takes the Indie Scene by Storm with New Indie Punk Track "SNAKES"

London-based singer, songwriter, and producer YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB has been making waves in the music industry since her debut EPI "Thought I Knew You, Boy Was I Wrong" hit the scene in March 2023. Known for her unique blend of indie, alternative, and bedroom pop infused with folk influences, she has now surprised fans with her latest offering, "SNAKES," an indie punk anthem with a grunge twist that will transport early 00's emo/pop punk lovers back in time.
With poignant lyrics revolving around the struggle of being surrounded by the wrong crowd and navigating life amidst adversity, YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB's melodic verses build an intense tension, leading to an anthemic chorus driven by colossal riffs and relentless energy.
"I wrote the song in about an hour, hence why it's quite simplistic lyrically. It pretty much speaks for itself, and it's something I needed to get off my chest," says YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB. "Sonically, it's quite different from what I've done so far, but it's pretty much inspired by all the music that I grew up listening to: Sum 41, Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, then State Champs, The Story So Far, and ROAM."
This rising star is set to grace the stage at Camden Assembly on Wednesday, July 26th, as part of the indie club night iykyk, where she will be joined by Eyelar and other talented acts. Fans can grab their tickets now to experience YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB's electrifying live performance.
Drawing inspiration from acclaimed artists like John Mayer, The 1975, Valley, SZA, and Paramore, YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB has carved her own path in the indie pop scene. Her emotionally-driven songs, crafted over vibrant productions, have already garnered over a quarter of a million streams on Spotify since December 2019, captivating audiences worldwide.
Known for her wavy productions, poetic lyrics, and warm voice, YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB refuses to confine herself to a specific genre. With bases in both the UK and France, this free spirit, often referred to as MJ by her friends, embraces creativity and allows her music to speak for itself, representing her true self.
Her previous releases, including "Young," "Carry Me Away (I Wanna Feel)," "Did It My Way," "When the Movie Ends," and "NIGHTRIDE," have garnered critical acclaim from tastemakers such as Wonderland, Fashionably Early, DMY, DNü, and Atwood Magazine. Additionally, she has received editorial support on notable Spotify playlists such as New Music Friday UK, Our Generation, Fresh Finds, Fresh Finds Pop, Fresh Finds R&B, All New Indie, Alt. Pop, and an alternative future.
YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB's infectious energy, fearless exploration of genres, and captivating storytelling make her a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. As she continues to push boundaries and captivate listeners, the world eagerly awaits what this rising star has in store next.
